Doosan Infracore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on industry-academia cooperation with Shandong University, a prestigious University in China to recruit talented human resources to enhance the competiveness of its overseas affiliates.

Doosan Infracore held a ceremony for the industry-academia exchange program at Doosan Tower in Euljiro 6th street, Jung-gu, Seoul on July 9th. In attendance at the event were Yongsung Kim, CEO of Doosan Infracore; Wang Yong, vice dean of the Mechanical Engineering School at Shandong University; Jae-eung Lee, dean of the College of Engineering at Chung-Ang University in Korea; Nak-soo Kim, dean of the College of Mechanical Engineering, Sogang University in Korea, and other officials.

Under the agreement, Doosan Infracore will hire 8 students from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Shandong University prior to their graduation and offer an exchange student program enabling them to study their major at Chung-Ang University and Sogang University for one year. The students will complete their fourth year in Korea and return to China upon completion of the program to work at Doosan Infracore’s Chinese affiliate.

Doosan Infracore will support their tuition fees, Korean language classes, accommodation, living expenses, and roundtrip airfares. While the students are studying in Korea, they will have an opportunity to complete an internship at Doosan Infracore. Also they will be invited to various events in and outside the company to learn about Korean corporate culture.

It is the first time that Doosan Infracore has signed an MOU on industry-academia cooperation with a foreign university. Seong-gwon Park, an HR official at Doosan Infracore, said, “Recognizing that the recruitment of prestigious human resources is essential for the success of our business in the Chinese market, we have pushed to implement the industry-academia cooperation program.”
